Socialhose Adds Snapchat With a Warning to Executives: Your Feed Is Not the Market
The platforms familiar to the people approving the budget are not necessarily the platforms shaping the market.
Dallas, TX -
DALLAS, TX, July 28, 2026: Socialhose today added public Snapchat Spotlight monitoring to its social intelligence platform and used the launch to challenge a corporate habit that rarely appears in a software requirements document: companies tend to monitor the internet their leaders personally recognize.
The result is what Socialhose calls the "boardroom internet," a clean, comfortable version of the social web dominated by the platforms, publishers, and professional conversations already familiar to senior decision-makers. It is easy to procure, easy to present, and dangerously easy to confuse with the whole market.
"Your board's feed is not the market," said Mo Elzubeir, Founder of Socialhose. "If your map of the internet looks suspiciously like the apps your leadership team opens before breakfast, you are not measuring culture. You are measuring executive comfort."
Snap Inc. reported 483 million global daily active users and 956 million monthly active users in the first quarter of 2026. It also reported that the number of people posting to Spotlight grew nearly 74 percent year over year in the United States and more than 61 percent globally.
Those numbers do not make every Snapchat conversation relevant to every company. They make dismissing the platform because it does not appear in the executive media diet an indefensible research method.
"The most expensive sentence in corporate intelligence is, 'Our customers are not really there,'" Elzubeir said. "It usually means nobody senior uses the platform, nobody asked the audience, and the software contract was signed anyway."
Socialhose now lets teams monitor public Snapchat Spotlight content in two ways:
- Keyword mode follows a brand, product, issue, campaign term, or hashtag across public Spotlight content.
- Account mode follows the public Spotlight feed of a named creator.
Collected posts become Socialhose Mentions with author, engagement, media, and a permalink. They receive the same AI enrichment, noise filtering, Smart Alerts, analytics, and search capabilities used across X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, and TikTok.
A communications team can now follow what people publicly say about a launch on Spotlight while also monitoring the creators capable of moving the conversation. The resulting Mentions appear inside the campaign the team already uses rather than in a separate Snapchat product.
Socialhose monitors public Spotlight content only. It does not collect private Snapchat messages, private Stories, or other private activity.
"A serious intelligence program is built around where the audience is speaking, not where leadership feels fluent," Elzubeir said. "The first time an executive encounters a Snapchat narrative should not be inside the crisis brief explaining why the company missed it."
Availability. Snapchat Live Searches are available now across Socialhose's paid Social Listening plans. Starter is $149 per month, Pro is $399 per month, and Agency is $999 per month. Plans are month-to-month with no setup fee or minimum term.
